Thier seems to be a viewing party planned for the very first arrival of Lufthansa's A380 service from Frankfurt into Houston on Aug. 1st. The event includes a drawing for free tickets!!! Can't make it, but maybe others on this forum will be able to .

"The public can get its first glimpse of the plane at noon off the IAH Airport Ranger Trail Head off FM 1960 just east of Farrell Road. The flight is set to arrive at 1:50 p.m.

Prizes at the party will include Lufthansa tickets."

I just might take a half-day off, my youngest is bugging me to take him.

With the party being held at 1960/Farrell are we assuming/hoping that the flight will be using 8L/26R?

Very good point.....it SHOULD arrive on the runway that has been officially upgraded for primary use, but not sure which one that will be . The flight is supposedly only cleared to use the designated runway and taxiways leading up to D12.
