The board of Oman Air is set to vote on a plan to add three Airbus SAS A330-300 wide-bodies and the same number of Boeing Co 737 classics, as it seeks to bolster capacity before existing orders kick in from 2014, Muscat Daily has reported. The state-owned airline is also bringing forward delivery of two Embraer SA E175 jets to August and October from next year after passenger revenue surged 28% in the first five months, according to CEO Wayne Pearce.
Are SAS willing to let go of their A333? Plus, seems like a step back to add an inferior plane type such as 737-classics after Oman Air already phased out its classic planes and replaced them with 737 NG.
At the moment they serve BKK and KUL, I'm guessing they will add frequencies to BKK and KUL before adding thrid gateway in Asia. If it's MNL, it'll probably be a tag on from BKK, perhaps thrice weekly, other than that, their biggest gap in Asia now is anywhere north of HKG so I presume HKG is considered, as the current code-share tag-on with MH isn't practical. WY definitely needs a few more A330s, Knightsofmalta had 2 trip reports (I was going to do it myself),

apparently Oman-Philippines bilateral allows WY to operate a maximum of 6 weekly nonstop flights from MCT so for that you need 1 A333.
also I am told that the new CEO is reconfiguring the A330s to have more seating capacity as the current layout is way too luxurious and deprives the airline of much needed revenue with the additional seats that could be added on board.
WY to be frank does not need a F class cabin on board its A330s at all.
