Was just looking through the DL downloadable timetable, and I was surprised to see some huge flight increases around the first weekend in September, especially to DTW and ATL. Is there some massive convention going on that weekend, or what?
Ahh, thanks. That explains it. I was wondering why there was such a huge bump in capacity from DTW and ATL, but not from the other hubs... This totally makes sense.

Multiple DL 763 and 753 flights in DFW wows me. Sounds like a Delta reunion. Should be a really fun day for DFW spotters.

Wow... just like the old days, with delta 767's at the gates... as it should be!

Well, those 753s are ex-NWA birds that never frequented DFW back in the day, but certainly will be fun to see nevertheless. Almost wish I were in D-Town that weekend to spot for nostalgia's sake.

A bit off topic, but is AA doing swapping for larger aircraft, or adding extra flights into DFW that weekend? I could see extra seats out of DTW, as well as Birmingham, Huntsville, and Mobile.

AA has not added any additional capacity on these routes. I wouldn't expect AA to add anything on DTW-DFW, DL historically has added capacity to for bowl games for the University of Michigan.
DL is adding special schedules on BHM-DFW and HSV-DFW for the game, see below:
