Which US Airports Sustain A380 Service?

I need somebody to tutor me on which airports in the United States accommodate the A380, which airline fly to to the United States and if it is year round or seasonal service.

LH flies daily into SFO and JFK during the summer. IAH will also receive the A380 starting mid August.

EK goes from (currently) daily to double-daily A380 on the JFK run from next January.

On a similar note...forgive me if this has been asked before, and if I missed it on a380flights.net, but how many A380's could SFO hypothetically handle at once? I understand that there are 6 total A380-capable gates at SFO, but are the gates spaced so that you could actually accommodate 6 at once, or how would that work from a spacing perspective?

I imagine it'll be a long time (if ever) before SFO actually has that problem, since there's only one scheduled A380 service for the foreseeable future, but would still be curious to find out. Thanks

Thanks! That's what I get for taking Wikipedia seriously...that's where I got the 6 gate number from. Given that A1 and A9 aren't next to each other, it looks like SFO could have all three A380 gates occupied, if two other airlines decided to start flying them to SFO

Until 10/28C is completed 4th quarter 2013, there are no planned A380 operations. However, in the event of a diversion it could technically be gated at M12 as a single bridge operation.

There are upgrades to the ground power and cooling systems at T5 starting which were planned with the 74H, 787 and 380 in mind.

Personally, I could see 1, maybe 2 380's to ORD and that's about it.

How come LHR seems to be the focal point for new A380 routes? I'm not saying any other airport is more deserving or LHR is less deserving than others, but what is it about London (aside from the obvious business and leisure market) that attracts new international service to the airport than say a JFK or HKG etc?

IIRC both of these are supposed to start around the same time in Q1 2013

Runway 10/28 can handle one as is, and I would assume an easy taxi to T5. I think the only reason why there aren't any A380 ops at ORD is that it will either be too much capacity (AF), or they are better suited on other routes (LH and KE). I don't see EK, SQ, or QF starting service to ORD with one (or starting at all). Right now, I can only see KE flying here with one in the future as LH will run FRA-ORD with a 748i.
