I know that UA's first 787 is arriving in September (with it's breakthrough new livery!) and they are due to have 5 by the end of the year. (correct?) so my question about UA is how many more 787's will they receive in 2013? I read that Boeing is pumping the 787's out very quickly, is that true?

As for Luftansa's 747-8i's, one is in service now, when do they expect to see #2? And how many will they take delivery of this year, and how many in 2013? I realize it's very early on but has LH said anything about their new giant lady? How about pax feedback?

Is there a published schedule for these deliveries?

I plan to adjust my flying routes to get on them as quickly as possible, but with just one 748i flying it hasn't worked out yet. I flew the first United 777 within weeks of delivery and I vividly recall the overwhelming excitement to see her, board her (I upgraded to First) and I barely slept on the EWR to LHR flight. I just couldn't stop exploring the details. It felt like such a giant leap in aircraft design.
