I've bought a ticket to Europe on Canada 3000 to leave this Tuesday (YYZ-CDG). It's a flight operated by Royal both ways. When I was in CDG a month ago, I saw a Royal A310 there, so I'm assuming that that's the a/c for the daily flight to Paris. Here's my question: as someone who normally flies over the Atlantic with British Airways, Air France, or Virgin, I don't have a heck of a lot of experience on the Canadian charter transatlantic scene. How much less should I expect to enjoy my C3000/Royal flight than say, a BA flight? I know there are no PTVs, and the food won't be as good, but are there any redeeming qualities to look forward to?  Smile I've flown a Royal A310 from YYZ to ACA, and it was manageable.

Just interested in some opinions here... thanks!

Cheers,
T.J.

Hey,

C3 is a great airline. Even though they do not have Club C3 as yet, they will be soon on their A310's, A330's and A340's. I have flown C3 6 times already and its a great airline. I have flown on the A320, 757 and A330 and they are all clean and nice. I never flown Transatlantic with them but I did fly down to the Trinidad with the 757 and A330-200. Just dont expect it to be a BA flight because its charter. None of the aircraft are equipped with PTV's, sorry to dissapoint you but atleast they got TV's. LOL. I flown Royal's 727 back in 95 to Port Of Spain Trinidad in the Caribbean, they were good.

Enjoy your flight,

Regards,

BWIA330

I don't know whether or not C3 has changed all the Royal aircraft over to their standards. If they haven't, expect to be cramped th entire way.

Canada 3000's aircraft have a decent seat pitch for a charter, about 31", and the service isn't not quite at Air Canada's level, but every flight I've had on C3 has been enjoyable.

Obviously your financial situation has changed since u were flying BA/AC and Virgen before. U have chosen a lost cost airline which means u have to except the fact C3 may not have all the things the high cost airlines have such as ptv's. U get what u pay for my friend. If u find that they were not suitable to your likeing then next time pay more and get more. Its funny how some people have the taste for champaign but the budget for beer. C3 is a very well organized and professional company, more so than AC. Royal however was the best of all the Canadian Airlines that operated. Have a good flt buddy.

Well I once heard that they got their name because they squeeze 3000 pax. on to their Airbus aircraft!
But enjoy your flight.

You'll have to forgive Airtransam, he mostly talks out of his ass, and has a few issues he is trying to deal with.

Besides, our friend the Dancing Queen shouldn't be making any assumptions about your's or anyone else's financial situation. We like to refer to him as intellectually challenged.

Wow.. looks promising!
Airtransam - I bought the flight this morning for this Tuesday, less than a week away. As such, it was either a 600 charter, or a 2400 dollar scheduled.
I've flown both C3000 and Royal before, but only to the Carribean and Mexico. I'm just dreading the long haul over the atlantic in a sardine can.
Ah well.. thems the the breaks... thanks guys

No worries mate, I didn't take offense from it. By bitching about C3000, I'm sounding kind of spoiled anyways!  Smile I'm heading to Paris to surprise my girlfriend who lives there and take her out to dinner for her birthday. Short notice means dirty charter flights!

I have flown C3 more than any other airline, and have yet to be disappointed. They are a fantastic airline for the price. Enjoy your trip!

Cheers,

Marrty

If I can save $1800 on a flight, they can treat me like a dirt, and I'd still be a happy customer.  Big grin
