Just searched this up and down, I saw on youtube videos of people looking out through a tail camera on LH A340-600s but when I went to the website I could not find any indication such a "channel" exists on LH's IFE options. I do see it on the A380 IFE page but not on the A340-600 page. Taking flight next month from LA to Munich and now and really curious to know if indeed one of the channels on the PTV would allow views from a tail camera.

Currently on the Airbus fleet, all of the A380s and 333s DAIKP-R (MUC based) have camera views included as part of the "new" IFE system.
There is currently a tail mounted camera on the 340-600 but not attached to the IFE system- it is only in the cockpit for the pilots. If and when the 346's get the new IFE setup I would imagine pax will have access to the cameras as well.
Nothing in life is to be feared; it is only to be understood.

AF B77W's do have cameras fed to the PTV's. I was on F-GZNG last month and it did have the system. I don't see why they couldn't have it for the A340-600's, although the last LH bird I flew on did not even have PTV's (it was a 747-400).
BTW, does anyone know where the camera for the AF B77W's is mounted? It seemed that it was in the cockpit or under the fuselage (no part of the plane was visible).
