You have to respect Bruce's passion for aviation,on the current north american tour while in Edmonton he met up with the folks from Buffalo Airways and flew one of their DC-3's from Edmonton Muni airport to Hay River and Yellowknife. He also managed to fly the DC-4 as well. The awesome thing as well is that this was all filmed and it will end up in a future episode of Ice Pilots NWT.

Good for him.

I know how he feels, my wife asked what I wanted for my birthday, I want to go to Yellowknife and fly on the "DC3 sched" flight for my birthday

That's so cool. Bruce never fails to disappoint! Total airplane nerd like us...he just so happens to front one of the biggest rock/metal bands of all time!

If there were truly a most interesting man in the world contest, Bruce would be my top nomination. Frontman, musician, pilot, airline manager, MRO business founder, fencer, radio DJ, the list goes on and on. True Renaissance man.

Up the irons, Bruce!!! Live to fly, Fly to live, Aces High!!!

That was really cool to see. How is Maiden getting around on tour now without their own dedicated plane? Just regular commercial? I know Bruce would fly the band around Europe in his Cessna 421 Golden Eagle before the 757s, while the equipment would get trucked.

Boeing posted the following on Twitter:

Boeing Airplanes ‏@BoeingAirplanes

Happy birthday to @IronMaiden frontman Bruce Dickinson who recently paid us a visit. Details coming later this week. #Boeing #AvGeek

What did he do? Bought a plane?   Or more likely any sort of co-operation between Boeing and Cardiff Aviation...

I'll be shatting bricks myself if we see a 747-8i come out with Eddie on that MASSIVE tail...

Next trip: SLC-LAX-JFK-LAX-SLC on AA, gotta say goodbye to my beloved 762!

Does he not have some ownership stake in the FBO?

He stopped by to fly in the 747-8 simulator. Maybe there was some other business to be discussed, but Boeing shot a video of his visit.
