AA And The Dreamliner

I've been scouring across the web for details about American Airlines and the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and all I can find are news articles announcing AA ordering 42 787-9s with options for more, an order placed in 2008. Yet nowhere on boeing.com, aa.com, or Wikipedia can I find evidence for a firm order for the Dreamliner from AA.

So: has AA ordered the Dreamliner, and if so, how many?

AA Won't Recieve 787 Until At Least 2015 (by crAAzy Jul 12 2012 in Civil Aviation)

In short, they have not confirmed their order and cannot do so until they have a contract with the APA. More details can be found in the post linked above.
