Hi,
are there any news regarding Lufthansa Cargo´s order for the 777F ? When will the first plane be delivered ? Any news if they will go to LH Cargo or Aero Logic ?
It will forever be a McDonnell Douglas MD 80 , Boeing MD 80 sounds so wrong

The question is premature as LHCargo decides ad hoc depending on market situation. it is safe to say however that the oldest MD11s which came in second hand will the first to be replaced by 777Fs. When an dif re-orders will take place depends on a lot of factors, also on the fzuture of FRA as a cargo hub which is handicapped by the curfew and the 11 pm guillotine.

Still the aircraft are ordered sure LH Cargo can still cancel the order or sell the slots but I doubt this will happen. When would be the delivery date of the first plane ? Early or late 2013 ? Any estimate ?

Two in 2013, two in 2014 and one in 2015 but no indication which part of the years.
I think that, despite all the obstacles, it is safe to say that LH will take this batch. They still have 4 ex Varig and AZ MD11s. The 777Fs will replace these or, should miracles happen, come in for growth. That'll be an ad-hoc decision.

LH is most likely looking to free up cash for additional 748's.

Reminds me very much on an A310
That would be a streched A-310, with a much wider wingspan and huge engines.

Still the silouhette is very much the same. The 777 is bigger as you said but if you can not tell the size difference there is a great resemblance especially in that paint scheme.

777-300ER was at least a possibility, for the 777-200ER you don´t need any prayers, it would be a waste of time
Still the 777X and the 787-10 are likely

DVZ, Germany's leading logistics publication, featured an interview with the LHCargo CEO today.
Main item concerning this topic here is that they look forward receiving the first 2 777F in the fourth quarter 2013.
No decision has yet been made if MD11s are phased out when the new 777 fleet arrives. Much depenfdsw on the situation in FRA and how the customers respond to the curfew. Especially North American routes are at stake, where departures between 11 pm and 5 pm are crucial for the success of these routes.

It's true, I thought the same when I saw the picture. If you cover the fuselage behind the wings with your hand it looks like an A 300. I think in this rendering the forehead (yes, KC135TopBoom, even the holy 777 has a forehead ) is not shown correctly but I might be wrong, of course.

According to this article below a decision whether the aircraft will go to LH Cargo or Aerologic will be made soon. Without going further into detail the article states that it is indeed very likely that the aircraft will be used by LH Cargo
