The release of the book was discussed in the following thread:
QF32 Engine Failure , A Book By The Captain. (by sunrisevalley Jul 7 2012 in Civil Aviation)?threadid=5507312&searchid=5508374&s=qf32#ID5508374

I'm keen to have a read of this book so I placed an order on amazon.com.au in early June. The book was supposed to be released on 24 July (and delivered wirelessly to my Kindle) however it is now 3 August and still hasn't arrived. Checking Amazon shows a publication date of 24 July but also says "not currently available".

Just wondering has anyone received theirs, either ordered through Amazon, iBooks or hard copy, or have any idea as to why it's been delayed?

Cheers,
Andrew

Hello,

I also ordered mine directly from the QF32 website and got my copy two days ago. Mind you, this is in Mexico, so the Australian mail must be very efficient.

I was in exactly the same boat as you. I emailed Amazon and they replied that there was no such book on their web site and the publisher must have delayed it. I went to the web site and their it was! I emailed them again and pointed out that the book was indeed on their web site and that posters had reported on "an international aviation forum"   that the book was only visible from Australian & New Zealand IP addresses and could they find out what was going on, please?

I had a second reply within an hour saying their was an technical error with their web site and she had cancelled my previous order which had not been charged and that I should order it again. I did so and had the book with a few minutes.

So I suggest you contact Amazon. The email mentioned that there were toll free numbers from many countries on thie "contact Us" page and that calling was a better method to contact them. I did not check this out as I had the book, but you might want to.

Hope it works for you

At the risk of starting a chorus like something from Monty Python.....I too ordered it directly from the QF32 site and got my signed copy about 2 weeks ago I think it was. I've scan bits of the it and can't wait to start it.

If you want to hear a pretty good interview with Richard de Crespigny, go to iTunes and search CONVERSATIONS with RICHARD FIDLER. (ABC Radio here in Australia).

There's a free download of a recent interview with him which makes for riveting listening.
Great admiration for what he and his team achieved.

Territorial copyright laws! Major pain-in-the-ass for us in Australia and other countries. It probably become available world wide in due course. Just another reason to consign the publishing industry, as we know it, to the dust bin of history!
