Anybody who knows me on this website knows that I am always trying to find answers for my local airports, and this one has been eating a whole in my head for a fews days now. With the 9L Q400s shifting out west, what will be eventually operating the daily EWR-MYR rotation (with the 2nd daily flight on Saturdays)? I know that the flight shifts down to an E45X for the winter, but in the summer it doesn;t make sense to take 20 seats off a frequently full flight. Will we see UA E170s or CRJ-700s operating the flight?  crossfingers        I really hope we don't see a capacity decrease of that calibur if they go to the E45Xs.

Anybody got any info? Any is greatly appreciated!

I flew this route in 2007 on a sCO 737-300, unfortunately those have been retired. If I had to guess for next Summer I would say an ERJ-145 most of the time with either a A319/A320 or 738 mixed in on peak travel days.

I'm pretty sure that although there will be a good amount of the Q's heading to Denver, there will still be some supporting the IAD and EWR operations. RP opened a new base in PIT just recently to help out the UA east coast flying, so I'd think there's a possibility of the Dash8 staying on that route!

I sure hope so! I love the E145, it was the first plane I was on, (COEX EWR-YYT) but I love the Q400 more.

I remember when Hooters did EWR-MYR on a 757.

I would not be surprised if it became mainline, albeit at a reduced frequency...something like 4x weekly. Leisure destinations like MYR and RJ's (even 70 seaters) are not a good combination.
