Hi, don´t have no real source for this but have read in another Forum that Lufthansa will phase out it last two Avro RJ 85 on August 27th, so if this true take the last photos of the little quad as long as you can.

It will forever be a McDonnell Douglas MD 80 , Boeing MD 80 sounds so wrong

I'm glad I flew on one from KRK-MUC last October. It was the the first time flying one. I couldn't believe they had 3x3 seating!

Ah yes, I remember the good old days when a BAe146 had 2+3 and it was quite comfortable.

LH may have adopted 3-3 seating but partner LX still provides 2-3.

LX still has 20 of these birds in the fleet and will keep them until 2014 when they will be replaced by the C-series; thus, there are still plenty of opportunities to fly on these birds in the Lufthansa group.

And they are not bad machines! Go on a flight to LCY on one of these flights, you will love it!

I'm glad the LH Avros will be gone. The 6-abreast configuration is very cramped. I've always gone out of my way to avoid LH Avros (and any others that are 6-abreast, e.g. CityJet). On the other hand, LX (and SN) Avros with their spacious 5-abreast configuration are excellent, one of my favourite aircraft, although I'm sure LX will be glad to finally when the CSeries finally arrive and see their fuel consumption on current Avro routes drop by about 25%.
