The Echo are reporting that Thomson Airways (but possibly operated by Germania) are starting package holiday/flights from SEN-PMI next Summer, on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Quoting Humberside (Reply 1): The Thomson brochures show it as Germania, so you might want to slightly alter your thread title
Thanks! Odd that it is being operated by Germania though isn't it? Is it just a case of Thomson not having enough aircraft to fly the route? Do any other airlines operate on behalf of Thomson?

But with those flight times it can't be a W rotation (unless I am missing something obvious) because the aircraft leaves SEN early morning and then returns back in SEN early afternoon.

Holiday charters often depart and arrive at any time during 24 hours, so it might as well arrive at SEN at lets say 6:00 and depart again at 07:30. I once arrived at AMS at 03:00 for example.
I cant see Germania base an aircraft at SEN unless its leased out.

It could be W from DUS-SEN-PMI-SEN-DUS
A DUS departure 6:30 CET arrives 6:30 GMT, so can depart 7:30GMT to PMI, is back 6 hours later, departs back to DUS at 2:30 GMT, arrives at 4:30 GMT...

Quoting bwaflyer (Reply 13): Does Germania still do the Ford shuttle from SEN to CGN? Could the PMI flight be slotted around that?
They do indeed do SEN-CGN for Ford, as well as ad-hoc flights from SEN to other German cities. Those, plus the PMI charter may mean enough work to justify opening a SEN base

They are starting to make more use of '3rd party airlines' again. Next Summer they are also using Air Europa, Pegasus, Onur Air and Nouvelair for example

I've noticed that, Thomson and Thomas Cook have kept the vast majority of flying with their own airlines in recent years. That has meant that very few foreign charter airlines have been visiting UK airports regularly, in comparison to say the situation 10 years ago (when it was an everyday sight).
With the bankruptcy of a some smaller tour operators (e.g. Goldtrail, WingAbroad, H4U), this seems to be changing. I've noticed Thomas Cook are using e.g. Freebird, Nouvelair and SmartLynx this summer season

This year Air Europa will be operating a weekly PMI-CWL-PMI for Thomson on top of the 3 other flights operated by a TOM a/c.
Looking at the Thomson timetable they are also selling:
Off topic, but Onur Air are also operating a number of Turkey flights for TCX. They took a huge hit after both Goldtrail and H4U went under.
So i guess the UK Tour Operators are getting good deals in order to keep the foreign carriers fully utilised.
