when I took operations tours last summer at PHX, that was the plan at the time. Eventually, they want to totally eliminate T2. AirTran moving to T4 should have spared approximately one gate at T3.

AirTran used gate 19 on the North concourse of T3 but Delta has taken over use of that gate. Currently the only free gates on T3 North are 24, 25, 26 (Old Northwest gates) Gates 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 23 are used by DL and gate 20 is used by F9. F9 will also RON aircraft at gate 26. So there are plenty of open gates that AS could use. There is also a possibility that HA could move from T3 South to T3 North, either gates 24 or 26 could handle a B767 or A330.
