In one of the many attempts to reduce costs, DL allowed OH/OPS to handle the below wing handling in MIA, EYW to name 2 stations I know. What will happen with those contracts? Is EYW handling going to be contracted?
Is DL MIA planning to open below the wing OPS again?

I thought that was all getting rolled into RHS/REAS, but I could be wrong on that. I think the idea was to eliminate the separate OH, EV, 9E ground handling and have it all under one roof, so presumably the few remaining independent OH stations would just become REAS now.

I believe so, at least it still is according to Wikipedia. I lose track of all the subsidiaries and spinoffs these days quite frankly. I do know it was meant to consolidate and streamline below wing ops, but that's all I know for sure.

Quoting xdlx (Reply 3): Is that a DL subsidiary like DGS? ROMEO HOTEL SIERRA

Regional Elite was formed with the "fusing" of Comair & Mesaba's ACS employees (technically CP as well, though they don't have any)...
Quoting dlramp4life (Reply 5): I was under the impression DL had their own below wing ops in MIA
Negative. Not sure how long it's been farmed out on the DL side, but NW had it's own ramp staff there until BK... FLL has been staffed by both all along, FWIW...

Quoting mayor (Reply 6): Perhaps THIS has some bearing on what is happening?
It's now official that REAS will be closing, with Delta Global Services bidding for contracts at former REAS stations. I believe REAS also provided ground handling for UA/CO at MIA.
