What to you want the airplane to do?

With that much runway you could put just about anything in there.

Im looking at perhaps a short-to-medium range aircraft, perhaps even a regional jet.

An MD-80 or 737 could easily do it.. they operate out of a 6000 foot runway here in town plenty, although they prefer the 8000 foot one.

Again..I have to ask what are you wanting to do.

Run a high frequency 30 seat range aircraft?

Run a lower frequency but larger aircraft like the 757?

Any way. I stand by my earlier statement that 6000' feet gives you gobs of room to work from. The length of the runway shouldn't be an issue for most aircraft types.

How about a 717? This aircraft will fit in there with a reasonable payload. I have seen DC-9-30s get in an airport with a 5500 foot runway. What is your sealevel there? That's the big question. Regards.
