What airlines will be the first to serve these airports with the 787 or A350? Also what routes?

For EWR and the 787, you probably have a 99.9% chance it will be UA.

Thank you for starting this topic as I have also been wondering this. Right now, I am thinking that maybe some of the 767 operators would switch over. So maybe LAN, or LOT, possibly AA? I mean, they're similar in capacity (somewhat), and because the flights aren't extremely long you wouldn't need a large fleet to do JFK turns. It's just a thought, but I would love to be able to see the B788 here (along with the B748) sometime in the near future.

AI perhaps for JFK?

As for EWR, I wouldn't be surprised if someone beat UA there. There are better places for the early 787s.

I think LOT will be using the 787 between Warsaw and Newark.

LOT is dropping its EWR flights and consolidating them at JFK at the end of October.

I believe LOT's first planned Int'l route for the 788 was supposed to be WAW-JFK. So, for the 787 and JFK, probably LOT.
Once LAN recieves a few 788s, maybe JFK, but for now just expect to see them on SCL-MAD-FRA and LAX.

Quoting Delimit (Reply 3):

I heard that AI was using theirs on strictly domestic routes. I don't see why they would drop capacity so drastically from a 77W to a 788, anyway.

I cannot remember very well, but I thought that JL was going to fly a combination of 777s and 787s to JFK. Maybe I am mistaken.

Next flights: MEX-GRU (AM 77E), GRU-GIG (JJ A320), SDU-CGH (G3 73H), GRU-MEX (JJ A332).

Incorrect.

LO's first 787 route will be WAW - ORD.
However, JFK will be their second Dreamliner destination, followed by Beijing; it was recently reported in the Polish media.

Seating for 787 will be tight for economy. Business class is 2-2-2, Premium Economy is 2-3-2, and Economy is 3-3-3.

I just thought of another one (brought it up in a different thread but it's kind of off topic), but based on my 767 replacement theory, anyone think that RAM could be a candidate?

Very possible. I see JFK and YUL recieving RAM 787s when they get them. I'd imagine JFK will be a combinationg 767/787, because if memory serves me correctly, JFK-CMN is 8x weekly for RAM?
