I was at CDG this afternoon (August 7th), and while trying to walk from Terminal B to Terminal E, shortly after entering Terminal D I was stopped by an airport representative escorted by two soldiers with machine guns, and told to take a diversion via Terminal C. Does anyone know what was going on? Was the terminal closed for some reason, like a VIP arrival, or something like that? Is this common?
The article says that incident happened around 10am, and it was around 7pm (concededly, perhaps more evening than afternoon) when I encountered the access to Terminal D from Terminal B blocked, so I am not sure this was it, but in any case good catch, thank you!

Or simply an unattended bag they needed to blow out. This is happening all the time...
Other than the blocked access and the soldiers the situation in the rest of the airport looked business as usual, so my guess is that yes, it had to be something rutinary. I didn't know that unanttended baggage alarms were so common, maybe I have been lucky so far but I had never encountered this before. Thanks!
