Thanks

YYZ-YXU - shortest scheduled flight time is 39 mins. Actual flight duration is about 23-25 mins.

YYZ-YGK is about 5-10 mins longer.

That I know of, the shortest commercial flight by distance at YYZ is YYZ-YXU (London, ON) at 89 miles (Source: Great Circle Mapper). On review of flightaware, QK usually does these flights in 25-30 minutes depending on runway use and prevailing winds ( http://flightaware.com/live/flight/J...3/history/20120809/0040Z/CYYZ/CYXU ) .

There still is, but it's longer than YYZ-YXU.

It would have been YYZ-BUF (68 miles) before service ended on that route. I expect US Airways was the last operator before they dropped it. Eastern once operated a couple of L-1011s a day YYZ-BUF, continuing to ATL.

Looks like YYZ-BUF is no longer operated. I did that in the mid to late 70s several times, usually EA and the equipment was nothing less than an L10. I these days I was on biz , usually 2-3 weeks twice a year in YYZ. Visiting friends in BUF on the weekend by flying a same day return on an L10 was fun.

I remember Eastern was flying A300s, L1011s and 757s to BUF from YYZ, the flights continued on to ATL.

There still is, but it's longer than YYZ-YXU.

It's operated by Georgean B1900D's . It's our shortest flight and only International flight.

I read that they never even retracted the gear departing YYZ.

Absolutely, unless structural integrity is in doubt, or brake overheat is suspected, then the gear is always retracted, regardless of the flight length. I recall positioning a B737C from YMX to YUL, 17nm, we took off from RWY11 and landed on 24R, the flight was 6 minutes ... we retracted the gear!

I'm confused. Air Georgian flies to many international destinations from YYZ. In fact, more U.S. destinations than Canadian destinations it appears.

He meant that it is ROC's only international flight, not Air Georgian's only international flight.
