Is AA considering flying MIA-LIM-ASU instead of MIA-ASU in November?

Just looking at what I wrote, I realized I goofed on the date. The nonstop flight starts Nov 2012. Sorry.......

The hypothesis for any AA MIA-LIM-ASU is likely based on the shortage of the demand of passengers for any AA MIA-ASU as non-stop.
Once the market would be consolidated in the future, they might consider Miami-Paraguay as non-stop services.
For example, the airline would split the MIA-SSA-REC-MIA service into the dedicated flights AA MIA-REC 5x weekly plus AA MIA-SSA 5x weekly; starting in December.

That was more a function of Eastern never having the right airplanes to fly to countries south of Peru. L-1011-1 to Buenos Aires wsa not the "right" plane. The last planes used DC-10-30 were since they could fly nonstop from Miami to EZE.

AA will operate the route with non-stop flights in both directions:
AA217 MIA-ASU 4x weekly (B752)
AA218 ASU-MIA 4x weekly (B752)

Doubtful because of the 14,000 feet altitude in La Paz. The Santa Cruz stop is to be able to take-off with a full payload back to Miami.

It's more likely that they could but sure don't want to due to LPB high altitude.

For AA LPB-MIA, it's either LPB-VVI-MIA (current route) or LPB-LIM-MIA.

AA MIA-ASU via LIM only makes sense if AA wants to re-start ASU w/B737-800 or if AA doesn't have a B757 available to fly MIA-LIM non-stop.

Braniff also flew: ASU-LPB-LIM-MIA-[New York/Newark] 1x weekly plus ASU-LPB-LIM-PTY-[Washington D.C./Baltimore].
