I've been seeing more of them in ATL lately. Anyone know on what routes DL uses the 753? Thanks.

They definitely use one to PDX, saw one fly over my head yesterday   Not sure where it was coming from, though...might have originated at MSP rather than ATL.

As SYfan100 said, PHX-MSP in the winter and I have also seen B753s do PHX-ATL and PHX-DTW during the peak winter travel season.

I also once heard a rumor that DL was/is flying a 763 PDX-ATL in the summer?

That's right; the PDX-HNL service was ended a couple of years ago shortly after the merger with NW. (The route used to belong to NW.)

DL 773. Actually a 763ER. It does an ATL-PDX-NRT-PEK-SEA-ATL routing.

How many 757-300s were made? I know that UA/CO have a good amount and DL has some too, but who has the others? DL seems to like the aircraft and I wonder if they'd ever pick some used ones up seeing as how we don't mind second hand aircraft at the right price!

Add:

LAS-ATL

There's not currently an ATL-LAS flight with the 753, but when the most recent schedule changes take effect, there will be 753s on the ATL-LAS route.

55 were built, and all of them are listed by Airfleets.net as being in service:

Delta: 16 (Came in via NW merger.)
United: 21 (Come in via CO merger, and some of these were ex-ATA a/c.)
Condor: 13
Arkia: 2
Thomas Cook: 2
Icelandair: 1

There is a Saturday return trip out of ATL to BON I just flew on 07/28 and 08/05. Flights 662 and 663. Loads o.k. for off season. Front of the plane full both directions. Economy Plus not so full. Economy about half full, so they were delighted with the option of moving around on a four hour flight.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to just station it here at PDX? It could also be used on the AMS flights...or does DL require all 757/767 crews to be domiciled in HotLanta?

The a/c has to come back to Atlanta for maintenance. Otherwise, you'd be doing ferries at the end of each trip pairing to ATL.

The ER to SEA pretty much has to do the same thing continuing to KIX.

This has sort of devloved into a mini-PDX thread...

PDX-AMS is on a A333 in the summer (winter might be different), so they can't route the 763ER that way.

I booked a PDX-ATL-PDX in December and didn't see the 767 offered on the daily flights.
Guess just a summer thing?

Pretty sure they drop it down to a 763 in the winter.
