This saturday is the last day for MCO-LEX Airtran operation. I believe this was Southwest decision. Today's LEX-MCO flight only has 24 on board. This flight did really well, at least in terms of loads. Flew it various times!

Petition to get F9 service. They seem to be interested in picking up the dropped FL flying to MCO.

I'm sure the flight did well when you could book for longer than 2 nights (without having a different carrier on the way home), but it's kind of surprising there are that many people on board.

At least you will still have LEX-SFB on G4 as an option.

Sad to see the SRQ web site already updated to remove all mention of Airtran Flights even though they are still operating today to ATL and MDW.

I'm not familiar with what DL usually flies out of SRQ, but have they made any dramatic cuts, like they have out of other ex-FL stations? According to transtats, SRQ sends about 5x more people to ATL than they do to the next closest non-stop airport (CLT). Offhand, I know MLI, BMI, and PHF were in a similar situation before FL left those airports, and DL pulled back significantly.

Delta has been beefing up SRQ with larger aircraft, extra ATL frequency and a new non stop to LGA probably to accomodate passengers that will be stranded by the Aitran (Southwest) pullout at SRQ.
