Just saw an A330 in the star alliance c/s with red engines depart BOS at 3pm. Seems early for a European departure. Anyone know if it was SAS and a diversion or charter?

It diverted for weather. Boston got a few diversions to EWR. It also got UA transatlantics from ZRH, BRU, BHX, EDI, MAN, and 9W from BRU.

If you have never designed an airplane part before, let the real designers do the work!

Weather diversion due to storms in the NY area. I am on a Delta 767 from Europe right now that diverted to BOS as well, and we're waiting for refueling and the weather to clear before heading back to JFK. Looks like there are other diversions here as well: BA 744, 9W A332, DL A332, etc.

That picture couldn't be more perfect as that's exactly what the weather in Boston looks like right now.

The weather has more-or-less cleared up in NYC but it will get ugly at BOS in an hour or two...

We were hoping to be refueled asap and to be on our way back to JFK before the storm hits BOS, but there have been big delays in refueling, and we missed our window to get out of BOS before the storm...so now we have to wait out the storm here in BOS. DL diversions here include KEF, BRU, AMS, DUB, and ZRH...

Wow, what a nightmare. I'm surprised you can't get out as its just kind of lightly raining right now here. Not sure what time it's supposed to get ugly?

Another SAS A333 put down in Bangor, along with a couple UA 777s and several UA 757s...all Newark-bound jets.

So far I see no Boston-bound flights setting down at BGR yet. Some of those are due in after the storm probably passes by, so they'll probably just plow ahead. Looking at some of the Atlantic flight tracks these planes are taking, they are doing some 'W-shaped' diversions over the ocean to slow them down. 'Zig-Zags,' if you will.

We finally got our fuel truck around 420pm, and were ready to go at 445pm (we landed around 145pm in BOS)..there was just rain outside so we did get out and arrived JFK by 6pm...pilots were about 1 hour or so from timing out. BOS was supposed to get bad around 615pm or so.... There was still a DL A332 and a DL 75E (AMS and KEF) after us, and then I think the diversions would all have been dispatched....

SE-REF was refueled on the runway (15R closed for resurfacing until next month) and departed within only 55min - not too bad. Also had 2 BA 744s, 1 Jet Airways 330, 5 UA and 7 DL - all were fuel and go so no canx which was great.
