Widebody Boarding Pattern Question

While it is very common to deplane the right aisle of a wide body aircraft through the front door and left aisle through the second door, I have never seen this pattern for boarding wherever two jetbridges are available. Does anyone have an explanation for this?

Thanks for satisfying my curiosity.

The front door is usually reserved for boarding the premium cabins and the second door is used to board the main cabins.

In Japan, for domestic wide-body operations, the use of the first door is for premium and those whose seats are accessible from the right aisle. The second door is for those whose seats are accessible from the left aisle.

As bohica stated, Door 1 is usually used for boarding the premium cabin. This allows passengers in Business or First to maintain a higher level of exclusivity once on board, and also allows cabin crew to perform pre-departure services in the premium cabin(s) with greater ease. While it probably would be more efficient to utilize two doors in the same manner in which they are used for disembarking, passengers and crew are usually not as anxious to get people on the plane quickly as they are to get off quickly.
