But the DEN-NRT, IIRC, begins March 13th.... Maybe I have the dates incorrect.
Quoting drerx7 (Reply 3): I'll be booking a 787 flight...are they available for booking yet?
Sept 1 is the sale start date per United Daily. I'm gonna see if I can book something on the aircraft, that is if UA adds more frequency into and out of DEN other than what we see now. But we are only taking 5 of the airplane type this year so I am not holding my breath.
Quoting kaitak744 (Reply 4): I am assuming the 787 fleet is based out of Houston for now?
They will be based out of IAH indefinitely.
Quoting cle757 (Reply 6): They should send the 787 to the Cleveland Air Show this year...alot of people would get a chance to see it!
You would have a better chance of getting Boeing to bring one than UA sending one.

IAH-HKG...NO way. Not a big enough or lucrative market enough to tie up 2-3 airplanes with. IAH-ICN...possibly, I would rather and be more apt to see OZ run this one if it was run. Honestly...the only other Asian route I could see happening in any reasonable amount of time is NH starting IAH with 787.
Third Coast born, means I'm Texas raised
: I meant that they could start IAH-HKG since there is a large chinese population here in Houston.
: How many people fly from Houston to Hong Kong every day? NS
: not as many as IAH-ICN! I expect ICN to be one of the first Asia destinations added from IAH..........unless OZ would jump on it first.
: Well...its not as simple as that. Let's stay on topic though
: Yes. One more word about international flying, which I'm also guilty of, and this thread should get nuked and started over. The instant SFO gets loade
: Ok, IAH-MCO should have been in the schedule though.
: There is, um, like a very, um, large Belgian population in Houston, and um, all 5 of those people could like really use these flights.
: What will they be doing with their first 787 from mid-September until Nov. 4... they should have 2-3 787s by then. How can ET but their 787 right into
: Probably different regulatory bodies?
: UA's hub in MCO is amazing. i love their 747 to BOG. Nah. Just choice. NS
: Guess I missed the hub but CALTECH at UAs MCO TechOps Center might have liked to take a look at it.
: That's awfully generous of UA to have IAH serve as the base for the 787 domestic familiarization flying, even if this is a carryover from CO. I though
: Now to just figure out which flight will be the 787 since I actually have to fly LAX-IAH either november 4th or 5th...
: I know it was mentioned above that they are taking 5 frames this year. How many are they taking in 2013?
: It makes much more sense to fly the 787 between hubs and especially to the hubs that will operate international flights with them soon ie LAX and DEN
: It looks like other than CLE and IAD which are special one day trips to UA hub cities, the cities that will be seeing the 787's regularly will be the
