Did QF Serve JFK In The 1990s?

Did QF fly LAX-JFK in the 1990s? I always believed they didn't, but there's a photo in the database of VH-ECC taking off from LAX apparently bound for JFK

QF stopped JFK in the early 70's with 707's and restarted with 744's. ECC was a -200 Combi (eventually converted to full pax), so could have been a charter or an incorrect entry in the database.

QF does currently fly from LAX to JFK. It also has a code share with AA on some of their 767 LAX to JFK flights.

Yes they did, but only just. They reinstated JFK service after a 26-year absence on October 31, 1999. Photo of the first flight arriving at the gate at JFK in this blog.

I checked the database- info is completely wrong. However, in 1995 there was a SYD-CNS-HNL-LAX-HNL-SYD rotation that operated 3 or 4x/week with the combis, and the return LAX-SYD service was a daylight departure.

It was flight 108 often called one O late as it was always delayed. Was a 747 for a while then downgraded to the A330. I think this route got cut last year when they cut a bunch of routes like the LAX-AUK

It's still being operated, but it has switched back to a 747 - the A330 previously operating it was sourced from the now-axed AKL-LAX route.
