I have just booked my flight to LAX from ICN during Jan 2013. I was surprised that there was no sign of 77W but all flight have been replaced by 747 surprisingly. Does anyone know what is causing this lack of 77W in LAX schedule? or am I disillusioned in thinking that LAX had 77W before?

KE11/12 appears to be operated by 744 through January, but according to airlineroute.net, it will be operated by 77W starting 1 Feb. I believe that will be the end of KE 744 service at LAX for the time being, if not for good. I don't see any other KE 744 flights at LAX in Jan, as KE17/18 appears to be a daily A380, and KE1/2 (via NRT) is an A332. So enjoy the 744 while you still can!
Note that KE61/62, the 3-weekly flight that continues on to GRU, will be 77W from 29 Oct (it was previously a 772), so there will also be KE 77Ws at LAX in Jan.
