Hi,

I was looking at flights to ATL from AMS in January/February and was surprised to find 3 daily nonstop flights. That is in winter, how about summer 2013? Will frequency go up? Did this take frequency away from the former NW hub DTW?

I love the late night departure from ATL btw.

KL911

Next trip : DUB-AUH-CGK-DPS-KUL-AUH-CDG-ORK :-)

AMS-ATL has been 3 daily for a while (AFAIK also in W11). During S12 it was 4 daily until September, thus this will probably be the same next year. DTW will become 3 daily in W12 and is expected to be 4 daily again in S13.

Its a simple adjustment in capacity. ATL-CDG has gone down in capacity in favor of ATL-AMS. Probably better that way as KL does pretty well and AF is...well, AF.

1xKLM
And there is DL 777 service ahead. Can't remember if it was ATL or DTW.

One of the DTW-AMS will be a 777 over the winter months.

For your information ATL-AMS-ATL may well be on its way to become the largest single transatlantic market out of Amsterdam by 2013. In recent history DTW-AMS-DTW was the largest transatlantic market for Schiphol Airport with 4x/daily Summer service and 3x/daily winter service by DL/NW.

Passengers carried 2011:
DTW-AMS-DTW = 606.210 per annum ( - 3%)
JFK-AMS-JFK = 559.062 per annum ( + 7,8%)
ATL-AMS-ATL = 459.013 per annum ( + 33%)
NYC-AMS-NYC = 821.823 per annum (JFK + EWR) ( + 0%)

In 2012 DL/KL are estimated to offer the following seat capacity on these routes:
DTW-AMS-DTW = 734.000 seats per annum
JFK-AMS-JFK = 684.000 seats per annum
ATL-AMS-ATL = 605.000 seats per annum (+ 32%)
NYC-AMS-NYC = 835.000 seats per annum (JFK + EWR)
