Hi all,

Haven't seen anyone post this up yet, but according to Taiwan's AppleDaily, the J-class on CX is attracting men who find "other" ways to entertain themselves onboard.

See the hilarious yet disturbing video here (don't worry, it's SFW  www.youtube.com/watch?v=baPz8UnrPGE

To CX crews, is this a problem you encounter on the job? And how crews in other airlines too? Or is it just media sensationalism?

You will find just about every type of behavior on-board almost any airline from males, females, and couples that you will find on the ground. Being on an aircraft does not seem to change what people do, for example we still get hundreds of people each year smoking on-board as well.

Yeah this is a serious issue. On flights here in the US this is completely unacceptable and the....er.....self abuser (to use 50's terms) would be seriously prosecuted as a sex offender.

In the meantime....i'm surprised I didn't see this while in Japan

True true... I wonder if this was a shameless ad for Taiwan's own China Airlines, to help them crack into the lucractive TPE-HKG market. I believe CX dominates the route, and in the public's mind, China Airlines still has the stigma of its past dangerous safety record.

I take you've experienced Japan's trains? Actually, the pervs in Japan are much more discreet. Apparently a popular seller are these trenchcoats with fake arms and hands, so the wearer can pleasure himself under the trenchcoat, standing up in a crowded train. Think about that next time you're commuting in Tokyo!

They don't have too. Despite its troubled safety records, their flights between TPE/HKG are very full most of the time.

Anyway, EVA Air now also offers this same fee-free "value added service" on board their new/refurbished 77W Royal Laurel Class

I stand corrected, I had no idea they were doing so well. Still, knocking CX down a bit is still a good motivator if this is some kind of sly ad tactic.

That is one of the funniest videos I have seen in awhile! Hysterical. It certainly brings new meaning to In Flight Entertainment. The hot towel service was a bit over the top. I've thought the business class seats of CX and DL and others like them look like video arcade booths from the 70s.

It might be a bit over the top, but at least it was not "american prudish ... hilarious as it was, it does have a point. FAs do have to deal with this from time to time, not only on CX.

No, they don't seem to have any problem with CX. Apparently you missed their „coverage“ of the AA Bankruptcy.

Hopefully they used bleach to clean the floors! I wonder if sales of sterilizing towels (i.e. Lysol Wipes) at HKG have gone through the roof now.

Oops oh yeah, I missed that one!

Quoting tharanga (Reply 9):

Yep, they do... they make some wacky animation, often very sensationalized. I'm amazed at the effort they took to accurately recreate CX's airplane and interiors, especially all the fine details for the J cabin and seat.

The funny thing is that there doesn't seem to be any original source stories about CX's "problem", it's like the animators made it out of thin air. The only news on it are all reposts on the animation, rather than original news.

Well if you get people flying in from some countries not too far from you where they discharge their bodily fluids all over the place you need legislation involved here
Quoting tharanga (Reply 9):

lol

Quoting JAAlbert (Reply 11):
The hot towel service was a bit over the top.

For some strange reason, I pictured a hot towel under that blanket in the animation
I'm not going to be taking those hot towels for some time!
Okay, I'd better not give them ideas!

They put everyone down!

The video was created by Next Media Animation ( http://www.nma.tv/ ) which creates these funny and humorous news reports of stuff going on all around the world. Some fascinating highlights so far have taken a look at:

27 Post contains images YVRFlyer : Wow, I'm surprised no one asked that earlier!!! ... Duly noted. I will upgrade to Y+ or book near the front of the Y cabin to avoid the rear lavatori
28 Post contains links YVRFlyer : UPDATE: Apparently CX has managed to remove the animated piece from Youtube, Next Media did a followup animation ad story here: http://www.nma.tv/cath
29 Aesma : Do you know where I can see it, then ?
