Corsair Intl And Aigle Azur New Routes

Corsair International will open Paris - Dakar on a scheduled basis from next November (winter 2012 - 2013) and Paris - Rio de Janeiro from winter 2013 - 2014, ahead of world football championship in Brazil, 2 important routes for Air France.

Aigle Azur will probably annonce on October 23rd a new route from Paris to China (Beijing) and an important agreement with Hainan Airlines. They should lease an A 330-200 for this long-haul route. After opening Paris - Moscow this summer, a new Nice - Moscow route should also open before summer 2013.

Isn't CDG-PEK becoming a bit too crowded? A daily Air Cina 7773/A380 (codeshare with CZ) and 10-14 weekly AF 77Ws (depending on the season)

The Aigle Azur route is a massive surprise (at least to me, but I'm not that current with French aviation). Seems quite a jump for an airline which currently only has 13 A32X series a/c?

The HNA Group owns 49% of Aigle Azur which may explain the opening of this new route to PEK. On top of that Aigle Azur has an extensive network to Algeria, and the business links between China and Algeria are getting increasingly stronger. Maybe they're planning to carry lots of connecting passengers between those two countries.
