Comair's Last Flight? (DL)

With the end of Comair coming up soon does anyone know what the last flight will be for them?

Last inbound to OH operated flight to CVG is 3205 IAH-CVG on 28th. Last CREW to come home is DH on 3834 (9E) DTW-CVG at 1641 on 29 Sept. I don't know what the last crews flight into DTW is sked to be.

There will be people at the airport both days to welcome the crews/flights home to for the last "brakes set."

Comair was a greatly run company from a people perspective. Working there, you really did feel like part of a family. They may have made some bad decisions (being acquired by DL way back when was probably the worst), but it was a great company with a great history, and they'll be missed.

Wow it's really the end. They did a great time taking me back and forth on ATL-BUF-ATL. They will be missed.

Good luck to the pilots. I know DL's a business and this wouldn't make any business sense, but I did wish DL did something with the employees instead of dump them off...



Ironically I have never flown a Delta MD-90 :)

I really feel for the employees. I flew OH when I was a nonrev, and even to little 'ol me, they were great. A true class act is no more, sadly.

Also, on a semi-related note, does anyone know the tail/fleet numbers of the aircraft operating these historic flights?

They could easily bring them to Delta if they wanted. With the 717s coming they are going to have to hire mostly every where(ok talking frontline here)

#3025 IAH-CVG tonight was 10025...a -700. Over 300 people on the ramp/gatehouse for them. Beautiful! Water Canon and all...I bid off this weekend to be there. Loved it!

I worked for this airline from 2006-2009 and thoroughly enjoyed the company. They treated us like humans instead of liabilities and family instead of cheap labor. Back then I'd say staff morale was pretty good and most people genuinely enjoyed coming to work everyday. Shame it had to end...

Best of luck to the great folks at Comair as they embark on new adventures!

Not really, right now with the new contract, they temporarily have a surplus of pilots since the contract makes the pilot group more productive (not quite to the NW level, but closer). Also the first 717 isn't showing up on property until August 2013, plus you have flow through agreements with others, specifically Compass.

I noticed this flight is on its way to ATL. I'm assuming going to ExpressJet as several OH 900s have been coming in the last week or two for transition into the ASQ fleet.

I think a big concern would be the problems they'd bring. If you kept their years of seniority that would cause a lot of problems (and their pay would be higher) but if you put them on the bottom they'd be pissed they lost their seniority. Business-wise, it makes sense just to cut ties with them



Ironically I have never flown a Delta MD-90 :)

Folks, that was the last revenue flight INTO CVG. I was pretty clear on that. I said there would be another flight with a DH today.

I've admired the Comair crews for a long time. When I was at XJ, I always enjoyed visiting with them. They were really a class act. Thanks guys and gals for being among the best in the business right up until the very last day. I hope you all get other jobs quickly so the industry can continue to benefit from your professionalism.

(3) -700's going to ExpressJet
(6) -900's going to ExpressJet
(10) -700's going to GoJets
(2) -700's going to SkyWest
(7) -900's going to Skywest
