Hello, all:

Last Sunday, while traveling for business, a DL 777-200ER landed at SEA. It parked directly in front of the DL hangar. Any idea why it was here?

It's a possibility that it did a football charter, Green Bay played in SEA Mon might. If not Packers who did the they charter with and what was the equipment type?

Considering how that game ended, I'm sure that was an unpleasant flight home.

I thought Green Bay used the 747 (when the 100s were still around), then the A330, now the 777? They sure do fly in style. It seems like the rest of the NFL uses the 767 and 757, 757-300

Packers have been with NW/DL for many years, this year they have only flown the 763 and 772.

Not since 2010, last year the biggest was the 333.

Seattle tends to get interesting DL visitors on occasion as an Asia gateway, too, in addition to sports charters. A few months ago, my sea-nrt flight was swapped from an A330 to a 744 that was headed in for interior mods.

A 777 is a pretty lavish sports charter. Does DL have spare 777 capacity? If not, where did this aircraft come from?

With the discontinuation of DTW-HKG, yes.

FWIW slack on the T7s isn't as large as one would think. The LRs are going in for some longer MX (PSVs I believe) and they are using some ERs to cover. I'm a little surprised they are doing charter work. (and wouldn't expect to see to much of it over the winter)

yep.
