There are laws, but there is no point to them - if IT can't pay their bills, they can't pay the fines either.

I don't think Kingfisher will be able to stick it out much longer AOC or not - striking employees beat up an executive yesterday, among other things. I just hope nobody decides to interfere with maintenance.
Regardless, if an aircraft goes down, that will be the end of Kingfisher. Nobody would be willing to fly them...

I personally believe Kingfisher airlines is a Zombie company anyway. IT might fly another day... they might not. Either way, I simply do not see them surviving until the end of 2013. There is no expected profit, so why put money into the airline? Mallay won't as he likes his money. Nor will any foreign airline. IT is done. Whatever niche Kingfisher had has been eaten up by 9W, 6E, and Spicejet.

Going six months without pay is harsh. Or did I assume wrong? Has IT made good other months pay?
Mr. Mallya should see the inside of a jail if the time was really that long without pay for his employees.

They have been striking on and off, but they've always stopped short of killing the company - they didn't want to lose the 6 paychecks they are still waiting on..

IT is a dead airline flying. A senior exec (Partner) at one of the big 3 consulting companies told me that they have banned their staff from flying on IT and AI due to the on going problems .. kind of similar to what has happened with our company. IT is pretty much about to hit the ground while AI is just a few feet away, kept afloat by tax payer money.

Kingfisher is toast! Spent yesterday with a good friend visitng from India. He said then (9/30) that they would not make due to all the iisues well presented here on A-net.

Yeah...shocking that the employees have been so loyal up to now.......1-2 months to save the company I can see as acceptable......more than that then the company is going down....stike or no strike.

There is a very strong cultural stigma against unemployment - workers would rather go work for no pay than stay home and deal with the social effects.
There aren't many jobs open in aviation right now, so it's definitely a tough time. Startups like Air Costa have been inundated with applications recently.

Illegal acts ? How about not paying staff for over 6-months. Is that not-illegal ? The only people I feel for is the staff who have not paid. What a horrible employer to work for.
I was watching this video the other day and it reminded me of the whole drama around kingfishers impending death.
I suspect we haven't seen the end, yet.
