Hello All,

I just saw that Conviasa of Venezuela is apparently already taking delivery of their first two ERJ190's. See below schedule:

Aircraft Type Series c/n s/n Registration Airline Remarks
Embraer 190 STD 190.00515 YV2851 ConViasa delivery 29sep12 SJK-MAO-CCS, Dniproavia UR-DSE ntu
Embraer 190 STD 190.00509 YV2849 ConViasa delivery 29sep12 SJK-MAO-CCS, Dniproavia UR-DSD ntu
Embraer 190 STD 190.00515 YV2851 ConViasa in full cs at SJK 25sep12 prior delivery, Dniproavia UR-DSE ntu

So my question is: On which routes will Conviasa use these ERJ190's? Is Curacao one of their first destinations? If so, when will it start?

The first two aircraft you mention arrived to Conviasa's hangar at CCS on Saturday night. It was covered for many local media. Now the aircraft needs to fly 40 hrs within Venezuela to be certified by the INAC (Venezuelan authority) so it can start commercial operations. There has not been any announcement about routes yet, but they mentioned that they are evaluating new international routes to be operated in short term such as MIA, PTY, LIM, among others.

Cheers

Tavo

Thanks Tavo, I am hoping they will use these ERJ190's to start flights to Curacao as well, especially seeing the high demand from Venezuela to Curacao as tourist destination.

At the moment there were no schedule flights listed with the Embraer 190s. So I'm sure that these aircrafts will be used for pilot trainings firstly. Conviasa will put the E-Jets in opration by November 2012: http://www.conviasa.aero/2011/ver_noticias2.php?opt=180

I think that in a first step, the Embraers will replace the Boeing 737-200s and -300s on its flight from CCS to GYE, HAV, PMV, PZO, STD and VIG.
In a second step, she will replace the Bombardier CRJ700s on its flight from CCS to BLA, BNS, BOG, LSP, MAR, MUN, PYH and SOM respectively PZO to CAJ respectively PMV to GND, MAR, MUN, POS and PZO.

No sure what's happens with the ATR42s and ATR72s. At the moment there is only a flight between CCS and VLV with ATR42s (3x weekly).

Why hasn't V0 shown interest in CUR? I always thaugt that CUR was a good route for them. They did charter flights between 2007 and this year I think (see my below photos):

Thanks! wells the plans are to Operate MAR, PMV and then to VIG and International to HAV and BOG, certainly CUR is a nice option but maybe late in the year when more E-Jets coming!

Is the entire delivery schedule known for all the ERJ190's destined for V0? How many have they ordered? I must say that V0 got their hands on 3 practically brandnew ERJ190's quite fast!!!

There´re 6 Firm and 14 Options.. this first two was not taken up by Dniproavia that´s why they came so early, the Trird is planning to delivered by November and the orther 3 by 2013 but no info about the month!

With the demand on CCS-MIA....I would hardly think this is the best use of this aircraft. They could probably fill a 777 daily.

Let's hope we will see those nice ERJ190's in CUR by the end of the year when Venezuelan airlines start doing charter flights to CUR.

Yes, the ERJ190 is too small for a MIA routing, seeing the demand from Venezuela to Florida. If V0 wants to fly to MIA from smaller cities such as VLN/MAR/LSP/BRM/BLA/PMV, than the ERJ190 can be a good option. I do think that the markets from VLN and MAR are still too big to warrant an ERJ190 operation to MIA.

Given the nature and mission of the airline, I expect certain destinations in fellow MERCOSUR and ALBA member states, both current and future, to be given precedence over bourgeois holiday/shopping getaways like CUR and MIA.

Conviasa will start to phase out their aging 737-200's and use the E190's in the domestic routes: El Vigia (EVG), Porlamar (PMV) and Santo Domingo del Tachira (STD) will be the first destinations. No official word from operations about international destinations yet.

Saludos!

Conviasa will sale several ATRs to SERAMI: http://www.ch-aviation.ch/portal/new...ezuelan-domestic-flights-with-atrs

So could the new EMB190 also replace the ATRs? The only ATR route is CCS-VLV vv with ATR42.
