Airplane Repo - 88 Airbusses?

Just saw an episode from 2011 where they repo'd two A-320s from the Azores. Who owned these planes? They blurred any markings. It was facinating. Interesting the unkind words about Airbus planes though, but they were having issues with one.

Apparantly they have their own numbering system using manufacturer and an incrementing number of planes from that manufacturer they have reposessed. These were "Airbus 87" and "Airbus 88". Am I wrong here? That seems like a lot of repos.....I assume a similar number for Boeing? This makes it seem like repos are not all that uncommon.

No idea who the actual owner of those aircraft was but im almost certain they flew for Hellas Jet from Greece.

That was actually the airbus msn numbers, not their repo number.

Cheers

They were indeed reposessed when in use by Hellas Jet. AFAIK the planes are owned by Wells Fargo and are still stored today. Edit: One was scrapped.

I was just thinking of this show the other day. When I looked at Google maps on my phone at Gary In GYY - up in the northeast corner of the airfield, I am assuming this is their location. I saw a Challenger on the ramp, which may be the one that Popovich uses. I saw 3-4 airline sized jets parked near the hangars on the ramp, no where near the terminal - I think a couple A320s and 737-700s.
