Where Do China Southern Fly A380s?

Initially it was PEK to CAN and PEK to HKG. Now they have launched LAX (actually Oct 12) and I can't find any domestic or regional flights op by A380s, yet news reports say the airline intends to keep the domestic runs - which matches what I heard when those domestic routes started, the aircraft wasn't deployed domestically for training or PR, but to match demand.

Yet they seem to have evaporated. Anyone know any more?

I have seen one in HKG last week, so I guess they still run the PEK-HKG route

So I won't be in China in time to get on the CZ A380, booo. Looks like those domestic runs were for training and familiarisation after all. Oh well, New York it is...

From the http://www.a380flights.net/, the routes that are indicated in green as future route (as opposed to rumors/speculations that should be indicated instead in blue) include:

from 28-12-2012 - 24-03-2013
Singapore (SIN) - Hong Kong (HKG) - Los Angeles (LAX)
Los Angeles (LAX) - Hong Kong (HKG) - Singapore (SIN)

Is SQ going to operate SIN-HKG-LAX on A380?

Best,

CZ were flying them domestically within China for a while PEK-HKG etc, but they weren't making any money so they have now moved them to the LAX and CDG route where they hope to make money.

CZ 787 to AKL can't wait.

The site is incorrect. SQ will operate the A380 on the specified dates on SIN-HKG-SFO v.v. on the SQ1/2 services. SQ does not fly from HKG to LAX.

I was under the impression the SQ A380 operates LAX via NRT...?

SQ does currently operate the A380 on SIN-NRT-LAX (SQ11/12). SQ only flies to SFO from HKG/ICN, and LAX from NRT (excluding the direct SIN-LAX flight).

Might be slightly off topic, but I noticed a SIN-HKG-LAX being listed under SQ in that website. Shouldn't it be SIN-HKG-SFO? Please correct me if I'm wrong!

LAX is via NRT, HKG flight may go to SFO.

There are rumors that CZ is in talks with CA to co-operate PEK-CDG with the 380s.

I'm flying PEK - CAN in January. Hopefully there'll be no more equipment changes to this route as I'm currently on one of the A380 flights. Will be my first one!

Not to toot my company's work, but this report should answer questions about where CZ's A380s have been, where they'll be going, and why domestic/regional routes were featured first (they never had hope to be profitable).
