Has anyone heard of this airline that is said to be starting services DMK-FRA in December?

http://www.thaiflights.de/top-oct12.htm

It says that they will be operating 2 737-400, 2 777-200ER and 1 767-300ER.

I like their slogan

"R Airline's like a cupcake, not sweet without you.
You're the reason we fly.
Thank you for joy us."

Never heard of the airline but their slogan gave me a smile. Is it an LCC? Seems cheap no?

This is the successor of Sunny Airways: http://www.ch-aviation.ch/portal/airline.php?cha=UNN

They also had announced BKK-FRA and then never operated the route. They had a B767-200ER for some time, did operate some but very few charter flights and then the aircraft was apparently repossessed by the lessor. Now the next try again with a strange name.

Now we have U Airlines and R Airline in Thailand, just missing S Airways and T Air  .

I'll keep my fingers crossed. It would seem to me they would be a good candidate for the first airline to launch long-haul operations ex HHN.

So not FRA-BKK, but rather HHN-DMK? Catering to the bucket-and-spade brigade, I would imagine, hardly the most lucrative of markets. Still, wish them the best of luck.

Given the number of B737-400, (473) less however many have been broken up already, I suspect that this is a short term solution.

Furthermore, many of those remaining must be getting pretty elderly.

No, that was just my mind wandering. I thought if they don't use the main airport in Bangkok (DMK instead of BKK) they might as well not use the main airport in Frankfurt (HHN instead of FRA). However, the announcement was for DMK-FRA.

It seems they'd have to rely on cooperating with some German tour operator and operate it as sort of a charter flight. For those customers, it probably wouldn't matter much if it was FRA or HHN. Since they don't have any feeder flights in Germany, the parking options at HHN might actually be a bonus to those not arriving by train.

Never seen something like this before: ALL TICKETS ARE INCLUDING A TRAVEL INSURANCE FOR BANKRUPTCY PROTECTION! Seems they didn't trust themselves...  Wow!

The aircraft shown on the top of their homepage looks like it has a Star Alliance logo next to door one ......
