Due to the void left by the Uruguayan carrier Pluna, LATAM will significantly increase its operations into Montevideo. TAM will increase frequency on the GRU-MVD route to 3x daily later this month and will soon launch GIG-MVD daily. LAN will increase frequency on the SCL-MVD route from 14x weekly up to 22x weekly starting in December. Overall, LATAM will operate 7 daily flights into MVD.

Quoting RAGAZZO777 (Reply 2): Any news concerning the resumption of the LIM-MVD-LIM route by LP ?
It appears that LATAM is focused on increasing frequencies on regional routes within Latin America and long-haul routes to the U.S. TAM Paraguay recently applied to operate the ASU-MVD route. Also, LATAM will launch and/or resume operations on certain routes that are exclusively served by AVTA via LIM. TAM plans to launch GIG-LIM, LAN Perú or TAM Paraguay will launch LIM-ASU. LAN Perú will increase frequencies on routes, i.e. LIM-CUN, LIM-HAV, LIM-LPB-VVI, LIM-MEX, LIM-MIA, LIM-PUJ, etc. LAN Perú will also launch a new route to the U.S. next year! Thus far, TA is not doing as well as they planned on certain domestic routes within Perú where they compete head on with LAN and is reducing frequencies on certain domestic routes within Perú; whereas LAN Perú continues to increase frequencies on more domestic routes.
