Huge (re)construction is going on in VKO. Runway 1 (06/24) and most part of the ramp are under reconstruction till the and of this year. At the same time second phase of terminal A construction is near the end.

Few days ago a had a chance to made some shots of second phase of VKO terminal A construction: inner atrium and ground control tower:

Ramp reconstruction. All ramp surface is lowered about 3 meters down to match terminal and runway level. Most works will be finished Nov 30, 2012.


'Buffer zone' between construction site on the left and already opened passenger zone on the right.


Inner atrium. This part will be for international departures.


Ground control tower


There will be the fountain in the base of the tower. There are two-three levels construction around the tower: lounges, shops, restaurants and even the hotel.

Iron forest. Hard to believe but this all will be opened for passengers this year!
