Just got this on Facebook today:
http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=1814046266969

A few changes have been made to the livery on the Pink 767-400ER (N845MH). The changes include the replacement of the BCRF logo with Evelyn H. Lauder's signature, as well as the addition of pink ribbons to the engine pods.

I personally would like it if DL would use this livery on more than one aircraft. AA has several pink ribbon aircraft for Susan G. Komen for the Cure, so perhaps DL should have more BCRF aircraft. I personally think the livery would look good on an MD-90 or 753.

Looks like it was painted between arriving in ATL early on 09/15 and leaving late on 09/18. Three and a half days to do a complete painting; it doesn't get much better than that!

It doesn't look like they did a full paint job, since the airplane was sporting some dirt marks in a few parts of the video..

I wish they would apply this livery to the 737-900ER's...

The entire plane wasn't painted, only the new signature area and the ribbon on the engines. It was flown to New York for a introduction ceremony with the Lauder family, then also did BC 1 to LGA.

Well I certainly don't have any first hand knowledge, but what on earth are they doing in the video in the opening thread then? I see the tail and the fuselage at least being painted......or are my eyes deceiving me?

He's right.

He's not.

First of all, planes need to be painted, period.
The second thing u need to consider is the awareness this plane creates among the public. It does not only stand out in the croud, but is also used for fund raising campaigns... Think this plane harvests a lot more money for research than u can ever imagine.

We have had this breast cancer awareness thing shoved down our throats for years. How more "aware" can anyone be. I have pink up to my eyebrows. It is leaking out of my ears! Has one pink paint job, banner, ribbon, light display, bumper sticker, sign, dyed hair, clothing, etc...cured one case of breast cancer? Or any other kind of cancer for that matter. How about lung cancer awareness month? Testicular cancer awareness month? Mouth cancer awareness month? Brain cancer awareness month? Does anybody see a pattern taking shape? And why are there no "months" devoted to all of the rest of other cancers raising awareness? Beam me up.

First off - if you dont love a nice pair of breasts, thats a personal lifestyle choice, but nobody needs to suffer.

My Aunt lost a fight to breast cancer. The "awareness" part of it is not necessarily the awareness you're speaking of. Awareness of Ailments - be it Cancer, AIDS, Polio, or Swine Flu for that matter - is not a term based on teaching society a medical term. It's about keeping the awareness of the public eye. It's about specialized events for that cause. It's about ongoing research. It's about finding a cure. Holding Marathons promoting funds. Sharing banquets promoting research. It's about the overall picture of the huge tumor it is - weather on a society or a single individual.

Bravo DL - Keep her alive and beautiful!!

You're free to raise money and set up a campaign for those issues.

I did, but I don't need to even watch the video to know what happened.

Also notice how the video started out when they were painting the whole plane that the engine was blue, the plane hasn't worn blue in a few years. In the video you can also see when they show where they painted the signature that only a very small part of the plane was masked off. This video is a compilation of the first paint job and the added titles.

The awareness campaigns are primarily to encourage women to get regular mammograms and screenings.
Amazingly, only 2/3 of women get them regularly, thus increasing the mortality rate. 15 years ago breast cancer was a death sentence--today, mainly because of the work of the two foundations (Susan G. Komen and BCRF) it's a treatable disease. So let's have more pink airplanes please! They help save lives.

Good catch. I thought I saw the wavy gravy tail too, but then thought I must have been seeing things.

Its one of the most common cancer's, and nowadays very treatable! Making people aware to let them selves be checked+ getting money for more research can really add to a way lower death toll... I'm sure when there is a major medical breakthrough in heart diseases or any other common disease, it will get the same attention when it might save thousands, or even millions of life's.

Talking about this ribbon plane, has there ever been another disease getting attention via aviation?
