Hello everyone.
I recently flew on a 757 from MCO to JFK. During the flight, I was thinking of all the possible routes where I could fly on an American 757 from JFK. And it seems to me that American doesn't fly the 757 anymore from JFK to the West Coast. I remember when a few years ago you could fly on it to several West Coast points including SAN, SNA, SJC and SEA. It seems to me that the only two domestic destinations where you can still fly on an AA 757 from JFK are MCO and MIA. Did anybody notice this?
JFK-SAN is a 763, though it is possible it goes back to a 757 if not a 738.
JFK-SNA and JFK-SJC: routes axed.
JFK-SEA is a 738.
EWR-LAX was a 757 at one time, once the DC-10 was retired, now it is a 738.
International destinations AFAIK are
In Europe: CDG, MAD and MAN. I don't mention BRU because that one will end soon.
In Central America: SXM and SJU (though you can probably consider that one as a domestic destination).
CUN is now 738.
It looks like from LGA and EWR, the only place to which you can fly on an AA 757 is MIA.
So to summarize, it looks like out of the NYC area, 757s are only doing East Coast runs, as far as domestic flights are concerned.
It seems that MIA is the hub that sees the most 757 departures a day, next comes LAX, followed by DFW. Correct me if I'm wrong. I am positive about MIA but not sure if it is DFW or LAX that sees more 757 departures a day, though I would think LAX.
ORD: not too many. MIA, and LAX 1x daily. And maybe one other, but that's it. ORD-SNA is now 738 3x daily.
Fewer 757 routes out of JFK must be due to two things:
The 757 retirement has now begun, and more 737-800s have joined the fleet in the last three years or so.
I know there has been a lot of threads about AA757s, about seats becoming loose and also about an over wing slide inflating, but this one is about routes.
Regards from New York,
Ben Soriano

JFK-BGI, JFK-STT are other year-round 752 routes.
JFK-CDG has been 2X 763 for several months now but will return to one 763, and 752 in the winter. A few more 752s come around in the winter/spring with JFK-SJO and JFK-EGE.
Compared to the past though, definitely less AA 757s at JFK.
