Does anyone know the date of the last JL MD-90 service and when will the last aircraft be delivered to DL?

It doesn't say when on Wiki but correlating to DL's 6 order I assume the 6 JL planes are being sent to DL eventually.

Doesn't DL have some MD-90s stored, including former JL airplanes, right now?

One JL MD-90 was recently repainted in their new livery. Seems strange since other reports say they'll be retired by the end of the year or early next year. However another forum says this one required a heavy D-check which involves stripping the paint so I guess it only made sense to repaint it in the new livery, which isn't very complicated.

Photo from a Japanese site dated September 23 taken at the maintenance hangar before returning to service.

The last JAL MD-90 will leave the fleet in March 2013

Reports from a number of A.netters who have captured this ship in new colors, indicate anticipated service with JAL through March 2013. When this one positions through ANC, I do hope they will be kind enough to leave the Crane untouched!

DL are actively in-process of on-boarding ex-JL MD-90s for EIS. The next to enter service will take reg N937DN. A 1995 build to JAS, it was also the first MD-90 delivered by McDonnell Douglas - after the first batch for DL.

That is indeed the case. Their sources must be correct.

There's nothing quite like a tri-jet.

Well, I guess the rumors of having a JL M90 in the new whites were true.
Still, does it really make much financial sense to re-paint an aircraft then having to re-paint again in six more months.
Is DL base color white?

Yes, this will be a relitively easy repaint for DL.

Thanks.
The hanger crews on this side of the ocean just remove the 'Japan Airlines' name and the crane. Simple enough.
Then the folks in Atlanta can finish up.
