Hey A.netters,
i'm pretty sure this whole 'KF might close down', 'should close down' is becoming a broken record, well to add more that, here's a new development in that story. Apparently KF owner Vijay Mallya could face an arrest, in regards to his cheque(s) (included payment of airport charges) which bounced.

I think the whole situation surrounding kingfisher is sad, I personally thought they provided an excellent service when I flew from LHR-BKK via Mumbai last summer.

My impression based on inputs from friends is nobody gets arrested for a bounced cheque in India. You should be served and appear in court for arraignment. If you do not appear at the court than that's when things escalate.

Quoting NYC777 (Reply 12): along with the designer of Air India 787 interiors for blinding us and general lack of design sense.
Any photos? I am not surprised though, as AI has tended to do strange things like call a panel of fim stars and celebs to help select their first class seat and colors etc in the past.
As for Mallya... so many people say its a shame because "Kingfisher really was a good airline". That may be true in a narrow sense in that they spent (borrowed) money freely to impress and win customers. But there was never really a viable business plan, and anyone who has been around the industry long enough knew that it was not sustainable, that the good times would end when the bills (and loans) came due!

Photos don't do the cabin justice - don't judge it until you see it in person...
There is a trip report by justbala on A.net which has some pics.

The ailing airline Kingfisher AirlinesBSE 5.00 % (KFA) has on Wednesday cleared the Rs 10.5 crore of dues to GMR, the owner of Hyderabad International Airport, and arrived at a settlement to cancel the non-bailable warrants served on its chairman Vijay Mallya and four senior executives.

Crisis-ridden Kingfisher Airlines could be on the verge of having its flying licence suspended. Like scores of its unpaid employees, vendors and service providers, the aviation ministry is also going to look for real money - and not just promises or timelines to pay - in the reply the airline has to file to Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA)'s notice by Saturday.
Unless convinced that Kingfisher has the resources to operate as a schedule airline and maintain its timetable of flights with full safety, highly placed aviation authorities say they will go for licence suspension. "Kingfisher is on cash and carry by most service providers. We do not want a situation where the airline restarts operations and then keeps flying in fits and starts whenever its unpaid employees are not on strike and the service providers refusing to service it. We have seen enough of that since last November," said a senior official.
A formal decision on the airline's licence could be taken next week.
