JAX Now Gets DL 757-300's?

I saw todays 3:30pm flight from JAX-ATL was on a 757-300, I was just curious has DL sent 753's into JAX before? because I can't recall ever seeing a 753 before in JAX. Do you think they will continue sending them into JAX?

JAX used to get domestic 763s, and occasionally 764ERs when they were in domestic configuration, so the 753 isn't much of a surprise. The demand is definitely there.

Looks like it's a substitution today for a 752. Fair chance its been to JAX before, but I don't remember it being a scheduled visitor.

Flight 2342 was a "J" last Saturday (nice for those up front in the bulkheads!!)

Not as many "N" recently -- the old PMNW 5500's, usually referred to as the "nasties". (I Wholeheartedly agree!).

I love to fly, and it shows!

Are some airports within DL route system have certain 757 types dedicated for them? like JAX you said gets the newer 757's is that because its a larger DL station?

Yep, even waaaay back in the day, JAX used to get regular L1011 flights too.

JAX doesn't get "newer" 757s im not sure where that was said in the replies.

ATL-JAX is scheduled with 757-200s.

No particular 757 type is necessarily scheduled for this route, however it will commonly the 75Ns and/or 757 variants that do not have AVOD / IFE but ultimately aircraft scheduling will dictate what aircraft is assigned to a route. DL "attempts" to put the AVOD / IFE equipped aircraft on the longer routes where it is more of a differentiator.

A route like ATL-JAX is subject to substitutions since it is very easy to substitute on a short and relatively quick turn. Getting the most appropriate type of aircraft / type of 757 is more important on ATL-LAX than it is ATL-JAX.

The 757-300, like the 767s are not scheduled into JAX but will and can show-up on a turn, based demand and aircraft availability in ATL.
