New aircraft will be built for the Russian President Vladimir Putin. It is supposed to enter service in 2002. Ilyushin is the general constructor and a certain French company has won the design contest.
Surprising since his current aircraft IL-96-300 is relatively new. In Russia's current economic situation it is a bad moment for buying new aircarft. Anyways good luck!

Some new info. Some sources say it won't be a big aircraft , but rather an office kind of jet which will include a control panel (like the one on Air Force 1). All computerised of course. Hey, this becomes interesting!

Nice to see that in a failing economy, with people starving in the streets at one end and others living to US standards, where corruption is not only accepted but considered the norm, that the government of the time has it's priorities in line, and is spending money in all of the right places..
