So, where are we going to start flying to? HINT: It is East of Doha."

Well that narrows it down to about a third of the world then...

I don't think QR has any rights left to Australia, the bilateral only allows for two major ports with daily services I think. (Could be wrong). Unless they plan on serving a regional city...

Long Shot I know... how about AKL? How does QR031 from DOH-MEL with its late night departure from Doha fit in with the connetion bank? Despite the enormous capacity increase recently, could we see QR extending this flight on to AKL? Adds a new destination and an early morning arrival into Australia would help with connections instead of the late night arrival as currently is. I am sure they would make money off freight accross the Tasman too, which has seen a reduction in capacity following EK adding A380s. QR seem to be fond of their tag on flights too.

Personally I don't think it will be to a new destination in Australia, I'm guessing somewhere in China or India..

I believe QR have the rights to fly 21x weekly to Australia, 14 of which are currently being booked to MEL and PER. So maybe a daily SYD flight or possibly even BNE if they don't want to deal with a curfew.

I think maybe a direct flight to NRT instead of the tag-on from KIX or a flight into central asia eg one of the 'stans

That's what I was thinking. An NRT addition would be nice

Perhaps another secondary city in China? The reference to East of Doha, implies somewhere in Asia to me - just subtle wording. TPE, PNH, CEB another Filipino city?

Or perhaps somewhere in the 'stan' region, Tajikistan Uzbekistan, who knows with QR, at least they keep things interesting!

I suppose anywhere is East of Doha if you keep walking long enough...

yes its PNH with an A333 but that route cannot sustain an A333 on its own hence it has to be extended some where or flown via somewhere. Since BKK is all B77W it rules this city out.

I would probably look at DOH PNH RGN?

mind u PNH has now become vvv popular with European tourists hailing from Germany, France, UK and Italy in particular.

Right now the schedule in RNG is only 1:30 in ground so I don´t think so.

What about Kabul or TPE?? I see many chances for another city in China.

Quoting smi0006 (Reply 14):
CEB another Filipino city?

If I´m not mistaken they serve in the past, but they discontinue, so they could go back but I don´t think so.

KBL is desperately needed for them if they can work out a bilateral deal with Afghan Civil aviation as it will provide a massive S/F boost to their Germany, CPH, OSL, ARN, ATH and UK flights in particular!

QR in KBL can give a lot of problems to TK on their EU market share on this sector.

Whatever happened to BHX?!! http://www.travelweekly.co.uk/Articl...s-plans-birmingham-doha-route.html

25 HB-IWC : SGN is currently linked to one of the BKK flights, so I presume that that BKK flight will be turned into a terminator or will QR fid an alternative ta
26 migair54 : Actually qatar has 3 flights to BKK and I think one continue to Hanoi and another to Ho Chi Minh City, I don´t think they will re-route the flight t
27 behramjee : BHX will come online once more B787s get delivered...dont worry...the Sikhs living there will be very happy to finally have a quality airline offerin
28 SunriseValley : Why not AKL as a tag on from MEL
29 seahawks7757 : Come on Seattle! I know it's not likely, but would be nice to see the 787 in Qatar colors come back!
30 Post contains images PlymSpotter : Indeed, but I find it quite odd that they are waiting to open it with a 787 because hands down that is a service which will get upgraded to A333 equi
31 soups : We are still waiting for them in ACC, everyone is fed up with EK and flights are always FULL!
32 nomorerjs : Given all of the DFW / AA love, surprised it isn't DFW.
33 jumpjets : I am relieved that it isn't SYD as in my little fantasy world BA will now reinstate their second LHR-XXX-SYD route by extending their service to Doha,
34 thenoflyzone : SYD will happen eventually. It's a matter of time. Thenoflyzone
35 6thfreedom : It won't happen for some time until hub waves 2 and 3 are strengthened. QR cannot operate same schedule to SYD as per MEL due to curfew, so it won;t
36 3rdGen : Not necessary that they'll send the 787 they just need the 787 so that they can free up aircraft to fly to new destinations, it might well be a 330 t
37 sq_ek_freak : Why may I ask? Are people just wanting variety, or are they unsatisfied with EK service?
38 tayaramecanici : Every single day with FUEL pricing trickling down and the number of B767 and A343s increasingly coming offline from the legacy (EK, DL etc) carriers,
