Hi everyone!

I stumbled upon this video on youtube today and wanted to share it with everyone.

"Air NZ partnered with WETA Workshop on a brand new Hobbit inspired Safety Video. It features cameo appearances including Sir Peter Jackson."

Cheers,
David

Haha what a classic! Air New Zealand ialways has great safety presentations, which encourages passengers to PAY ATTENTION!!  Does anyone know how long will this be running for?

Has to be the best NZ has made yet! IMHO its even better then the "nothing to hide" campaigns and the rugby video. When Peter Jackson appeared and said "my precious" with the ring I was really wanting the character who said "my precious" in the LOTR series to say it.

This safety video was made for the world showing of the new Hobbit movie in Wellington shortly. NZ is also having ZK-OKP (77W) painted in a Hobbit livery shortly with a 772 next year

I must say kudos to Air NZ for doing this!

I wonder whether will this video be shown on all their (jet) aircraft, specifically those of their domestic 733 and A320...?

Wow, I just commented on the new Delta video, but I think that this one takes home the winning prize for the day. Incredible to see the production value of a video like this and the amount of time, money and effort that must have gone into it.

I am truly impressed!

Indeed NZ video is in a class of its own. Well ahead of others like DL. It's very entertaining, and has exceeded 700,000 views on Youtube on the day of launch. Here's a snapshot of how the video went viral: http://j.mp/anzhobbit

I bet NZ has done for airline safety than most other airlines can imagine!

After watching the Air NZ video I watched the DL video and it is so boring and dull in comparison. They tried to make it a bit funny with the cameo appearance of Deltalina etc. but it was just a few notches below the NZ one whilst delivering the same safety messages.

The first 15 different NZ safety videos were interesting; now it's just getting tedious.

Am I the only one who didn't enjoy this whatsoever? I didn't learn anything at all by watching this. I thought it was just a story and at the end I was waiting for the punch line.
One was not amused!
