Surprisingly, I cannot seem to find anything in English about this, so here goes a German headline:

Quote:

That translates to:

"Agreement in Labour Dispute

A new strike by Lufthansa's flight attendants is unlikely. According to sources among the negotiators, the labour dispute has been settled. The recommendations of the arbitrator Bert Rürup are to be presented on Tuesday."

Walk together, talk together all ye peoples of the earth. Then, and only then, shall ye have peace.

Pending the likely acceptance of the agreement by the union members, the conflict has been resolved: Job-Garantie für Lufthansa-Flugbegleiter

key points:

4.6% raise, beginning in 2013 (union demand: 5%, LH offer: 3.4%)
one-time payment of €320
no layoffs until 2014
no transfers of LH F/As to Germanwings/Direct4U, but work contracted to LH by 4U
more flexible "use" of LH F/As (I presume that this refers to bases and scheduling)
F/As need more seniority before they advance to higher wage groups

I like this term "job guarantee". OK, it is fine for a thriving business like LH, they can recklessly sign such a statement without much ado. For next door Opel it is like an uncovered check, no cars sold, no jobs, Simple basics.

OK, no sweat. The total costs for Lh was about 3 days strike.,

is Ok as well, I assume that this flexibiloity will be achieved with time accounts, less flights in winter will lead to lesser hours worked which will be compensated in summer.

compnesates some of the wage increases.

I said that in the earlier thread. best solution. LH FAs will work 4U at LH waqges, new FAs enter with 4U, no new FAs with LH until the scale is balanced.

Again, flexibilty. The members should ratify that and enjoy the secure jobs. It is better to have it this way, they are better off than their collegues at IB or SK.
