China Southern will sent 380 to AKL on Dec. 10th due to the annual meeting of CZ held in AKL. It's interesting to see this and I think it should be the 2nd carrier who sends 380 to AKL.

Fantastic! Will be interesting to see what they do in regards to the gate it uses, since there are only 2 A380 gates in AKL. CZ is scheduled to arrive at 17:00 , and the 2 EK departures to SYD & MEL / DXB depart at 18:40 & 18:50 respectively.
Time for AKL to extend the new pier i'm thinking... as if this flight goes A380 more regularly or SQ send the A380 to AKL as hinted previously then it will cause problems.

This is a 'one off,' right?

Only if an airline expresses interest in taking a risk sharing position in the costs of the pier. I'm a huge fan of the A380, but there must be far more of the big planes in the fleet for AKL to pay for a new pier. Eventually... but after about 200 A380s have been built.
